How do I get started with MyStudio by LessonLabs?
Simply download the app from the App Store and open it. No account creation is required—you can start using it immediately. All your data will be stored locally on your device.
Do I need an internet connection to use the app?
No, the app works completely offline. All your data is stored locally on your device. The only time you'll need internet is if you choose to enable Google Calendar sync.
How do I add students to my studio?
You can add students directly in the app by entering their information. All student data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
How do I create and manage lesson schedules?
You can create lesson schedules directly in the app. Navigate to the Scheduling section to add lessons, set recurring schedules, and manage your teaching calendar. All scheduling data is stored locally on your device.
Can I sync with Google Calendar?
Yes! MyStudio by LessonLabs offers optional 2-way sync with Google Calendar. You can enable this feature in the app settings. When enabled, your lesson schedules will sync bidirectionally with your Google Calendar—changes in either app will update the other. This feature is completely optional and disabled by default.
How do I enable Google Calendar sync?
Go to Settings in the app and look for the Google Calendar option. You'll be prompted to sign in with your Google account and grant the necessary permissions. Once enabled, your lessons will automatically sync with Google Calendar.
Can I disable Google Calendar sync later?
Yes, you can disable Google Calendar sync at any time in the app settings. When disabled, your data will remain stored locally on your device and will no longer sync with Google Calendar.
What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will remove all your data. Before uninstalling, you can export your data from the Settings page to save a backup. If you have Google Calendar sync enabled, your synced events will remain in your Google Calendar.
Where is my data stored?
All your data—including student information, lesson schedules, notes, and files—is stored locally on your device. No data is transmitted to LessonLabs servers unless you explicitly enable Google Calendar sync.
Does LessonLabs have access to my data?
No. Since all data is stored locally on your device, LessonLabs does not have access to your information. If you enable Google Calendar sync, only your lesson schedule data is synced directly between your device and Google's servers—LessonLabs does not store or process this data.
How do I back up my data?
You can export your data directly from the Settings page in the app. This will create a backup file that you can save to your device or cloud storage. You can also use your device's built-in backup features (like iCloud for iOS devices). If you have Google Calendar sync enabled, your lesson schedules will also be backed up in your Google Calendar.
Can I use the app on multiple devices?
The app cannot sync data across multiple devices. Each device maintains completely separate data—including students, lessons, notes, and files. If you install the app on multiple devices, you'll need to enter your data separately on each device. Google Calendar sync only syncs lesson schedules to your Google Calendar (not the app data itself), so you can view your synced schedules from any device where you're signed into Google Calendar, but the app data remains separate on each device.
The app is running slowly. What can I do?
Try closing and reopening the app. Make sure your device has sufficient storage space available. If the issue persists, try restarting your device. Since the app runs locally, performance depends on your device's capabilities.
I'm having issues with Google Calendar sync. What should I do?
First, make sure you're signed in to your Google account in the app settings. Check that you have an active internet connection. Try disabling and re-enabling the sync feature. If problems persist, you can disconnect and reconnect your Google account.
The app crashed or closed unexpectedly. What should I do?
Try restarting the app. If the problem continues, make sure your device's operating system is up to date. If crashes persist, contact our support team with details about when the crash occurred.
Can I use the app on iPad?
Yes, MyStudio by LessonLabs is designed to work on both iPhone and iPad. The app will adapt to your device's screen size for the best experience.
